A
Colina Restaurant is within the A Colina boutique hotel near
Almancil, set atop a hill with fantastic views across the countryside

restaurant is the domain of Lee Newsome – previously head
chef at the London Savoy. So you know you are in for a gastronomic
treat.

Nelitos
is not your average Italian restaurant. An evening here is an
evening of fine dining in elegant surroundings punctuated by
excellent service and wonderful food.
Located in a lovely garden villa, near to the Algarve resorts
of Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago, Nelito´s opened its
doors in May 2006. Husband and wife team Manuel and Linda Teixeira
had previously owned two restaurants in the U.K. before opening
in the Algarve.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. You enter Nelitos by
the airy and spacious conservatory. Here a huge suspended cocktail
glass serves as a central chandelier. You can choose to dine
in the conservatory and enjoy the sense of space and light,
or in the central dining room.
Here the tables are spacious and set well apart, offering privacy
to diners. The deep red of the seating is complemented by the
artwork and the welcoming ambience is completed by the invitingly
soft sofas in the lounge area.
With the comfort of all their guests in mind, Nelitos also has
a separate indoor smoking lounge. In the summer you can take
full advantage of the fantastic Algarve evenings and dine outside
on the garden terrace.

Jacintinas
- My Secret Garden Restaurant Jacintina’s is something
special. An elegant restaurant within a luxurious boutique hotel,
amid lush sub tropical gardens and located within the Algarve’s
Golden Triangle that is Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago.
As soon as you enter the hotel, Quinta Jacintina, you know you
are in for a treat. The service, the décor, the attention
to detail, all exude comfort and indulgence.
Jacintina’s – My secret Garden Restaurant maintains
the level of excellence with artfully prepared food professionally

A cocktail before dinner is almost compulsory at Jacintina’s.

and in the winter you can sink into the soft sofas of the lounge.
The signature of Jacintina’s is without doubt the Wild
Hibiscus Royale cocktail. A whole flower is served within a

opens its petals, tinting the champagne pink and giving a subtle
flavour of raspberry and rhubarb !

Mundo is set in an old villa, serving French cuisine amidst
traditional surroundings. The restaurant has an attractive bar
area with open fire and in summer has two terraces for al fresco

The service at Alambique is excellent and the food is extremely
good. Restaurante Alambique comes highly recommended and is
well worth a visit during your stay in the Algarve.

The Restaurant Amadeus opened in 2003 and quickly rose to become one of the top restaurants in the area. In fact in December 2006 Restaurant Amadeus was the only restaurant in Portugal to be awarded a Michelin Star that year and has won an award for the best restaurant in Portugal.
As
you would guess from the name, the head chef Siegfried Danler-Heinemann,
is from Austria and he has previously worked in the famous Le
Canard Restaurant in Hamburg.
His philosophy is to take a simplified approach to modern European
gourmet cuisine while avoiding extravagant presentation and
using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. Combine that with
an extensive wine list that is well regarded as one of the best
in the Algarve.

Casa
do Campo can be easily missed when driving around Almancil.
Its not a restaurant that stands out from the road, you have
to be in the know or very inquisitive to come across its front
door.
When entering through the door you are automatically taken back
by its unique atmosphere. The well-known Casa do Campo is situated
in an old Algarvean House with lots of charm, warmth and an
eye for detail.
A restaurant for all seasons: for the chilly winter days there
is a lovely fireplace to add warmth and cosiness, for those
balmy summer evenings dinner is served outside under the most
extraordinary old fig tree; a lovely setting indeed.
Abilo, the Portuguese guitar player, plays three times a week
and has done so since the beginning. With a loyal clientele
this is an establishment for lovers of Fine Dining in an elegant
yet relaxed, warm atmosphere.

The Michelin starred restaurant Sao Gabriel is one of the finest around. It was set up by the Swiss man Rudi Markle and has gone from strength to strength with its new chef Jens Rittmeyer who has trained in some of the best restaurants in Germany.

restaurant itself is set in a beautiful old villa close to the
famous Algarve resorts of Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago. Inside
the decor is stylish and the layout provides many little dining
coves for a more private dining experience. In the summer guests
often choose to dine outside surrounded by the wonderfully lush
gardens.
Sao Gabriel serves international cuisine such as lamb, beef
and fish dishes added to with fresh produce from the area and
herbs from their garden. The food and service, as one would
expect from a restaurant that has won the accolade of a Michelin
Star is superb.

Julia´s has been established as one of the Algarve´s best known restaurant and beach bars for over 35 years. It´s success can be attributed to its great cuisine, friendly service and perfect location.

Gogh Restaurant has a wonderful hilltop location, offering panoramic
views across the Algarve countryside and sweeping down to the
ocean.
The warm welcome and excellent food perfectly complement the
beautiful setting. Originally a traditional cottage, Van Gogh
restaurant now has an interesting décor with many hidden
corners and alcoves.
Reproductions of the famous artist’s works adorn the walls.
The bar and lounge area are cosy and welcoming. The smokers
lounge is the perfect place for a pre- or post- prandial drink
and the spacious conservatory is ideally placed to appreciate
the beauty of the Algarve countryside.
In the winter, the conservatory is cosy due to the underground
heating, and in the summer, the glass doors slide open to allow
full advantage of the wonderful Algarve climate.

Vila
Joya Restaurant is part of the Vila Joya Hotel and the only
restaurant in Portugal with two Michelin Stars.
Instead of having dinner at the restaurant we were asked for
lunch so that we might enjoy the spectacular views of the ocean
and were pleased we took heed of the advice as we stepped onto
the terrace.
Not only is the food outstanding at Vila Joya but the views
are breathtaking. What is noticeably different about this restaurant
is attention to detail.
From start to finish you knew that you were experiencing a different
level of quality and that combined with the ocean view makes
Vila Joya restaurant a special experience.
